About the position

As a Senior Accountant - Revenue at DTN, you will play a crucial role in providing analytical support for financial planning, reporting, and trend analysis. This position involves managing and enhancing reporting systems related to all revenue streams, ensuring accurate financial records, and collaborating with various teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and month-end close reporting processes.
• Maintain detailed records of company fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
• Review depreciation schedules and ensure alignment with the useful life and condition of assets.
• Prepare and support internal and external audits related to fixed assets.
• Support the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting packages.
• Assist with independent auditors to facilitate a successful audit and provide documentation requests as necessary.
• Communicate with multiple teams within the company and address questions while cultivating strong relationships.
• Perform consistent self-review to ensure accuracy of work.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and improve accuracy through automation and best practices.
• Handle multiple priorities and ad-hoc projects from leaders.

Requirements

• A self-starter mentality with initiative to seek out information and drive financial insights.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting systems including Excel, SAP, Workday, and other ERP software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work in a matrixed environment.
• Prior experience in M&A.
