About the position

The Senior Accountant will join Lime's Corporate Accounting team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting. This role is crucial for supporting Lime's global accounting and financial reporting functions, including the preparation of financial statements and footnotes for periodic reporting. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for improving accounting processes and collaborating with various internal groups to address technical accounting matters.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of periodic financial statements and footnotes, completion of disclosure checklists, and coordination with external auditors.
  • Perform monthly close activities for certain corporate accounting processes, including lease accounting.
  • Evaluate and understand complex transactions and business initiatives, research and apply complex accounting standards to those transactions, develop solutions to accounting issues, and effectively communicate the results to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain global accounting policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and research new accounting standards, summarize and communicate impacts, and spearhead process changes when necessary to comply with new requirements.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other groups, including Shared Services Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, SOX/Internal Audit, and Operations, to ensure compliance with US GAAP and global accounting policies.
  • Drive continuous improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of corporate accounting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA, or pursuing CPA certification
  • 3+ years relevant professional experience, preferably in public accounting (Big Four) and/or with a public company.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP principles and SOX internal control requirements.
  • Ability to conduct research, develop and document positions, and effectively communicate results to management, auditors, and non-accounting stakeholders.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep understanding and hands on experience with ASC 842 lease accounting
  • Experience with NetSuite, Workiva, and/or Visual Lease
