About the position

This position is responsible for supporting the Director of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting by preparing SEC filings, analyzing data for journal entries, reviewing contracts for U.S. GAAP implications, and improving accounting processes. The role requires collaboration with finance and accounting teams, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and supporting audits.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with finance, accounting, and third parties to create supporting schedules for financial statements and SEC filings.
• Perform complex data analyses using Microsoft Excel to prepare journal entries.
• Conduct quarterly fluctuation analysis on financial statements.
• Review and document Company contracts for U.S. GAAP implications.
• Identify and improve accounting and reporting processes, leading process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations, including SOX.
• Support financial statement audits and internal audits as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Accounting required; advanced degree or CPA/CMA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of full-time working experience, with at least 3 years in an accounting-related field within a SOX compliant organization or public accounting firm.
• Proficiency in accounting practices in a multi-company environment adhering to SOX.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL, Oracle, or other ERP systems in a SOX environment.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of US GAAP.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work on cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
• Experience in a public accounting firm.
