About the position

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in a Family Office, focusing on cost management and financial reporting for multiple Principal-owned entities. This position requires collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders, including household staff and financial professionals, to ensure accurate financial operations and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Various reporting for multiple Principal-owned entities
  • Review of Accounts Payable work of external accountants, assisting when necessary
  • Reconciliation of bank and brokerage statements
  • Work closely with internal and external staff, including household staff, tax accountants, bankers and insurance brokers
  • Assist in various special projects related to the operations of the Company
  • Liaising with staff for collection of time information or detail related to payroll reconciliation and accounting entries
  • Assist with balance sheet and income statement reconciliations along with budget to actual variance analysis
  • Prepare construction and project budgets summaries
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
  • 7+ years in public accounting, including general ledger management and AP/AR experience in a family office
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial statements
  • Proficiency in Excel and Bill.com; familiarity with Expensify and Google Suite preferred
  • Knowledge of aviation, yacht, or construction accounting is helpful
  • Strong skills in prioritizing and focusing in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
  • Calm under pressure, adaptable to shifting deadlines, with strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, efficient, reliable, and proactive; excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexible, positive approach with integrity and creative problem-solving
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle, insurance, and willingness to travel as needed
  • Authorized to work in the US, with ability to pass a background check

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Expensify and Google Suite
  • Knowledge of aviation, yacht, or construction accounting
