About the position

The Senior Accountant position is a critical role within the finance team, focusing on maintaining the integrity of financial data and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and experienced, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of monthly bookkeeping for clients, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, invoicing, inventory management, and fixed assets.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and file sales, use, and excise tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Complete tax audits and workers' compensation audits, providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct peer reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency in accounting practices across the team.
• Process payroll, submit payroll reports and deposits, and stay current on payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
• Respond promptly to client requests for ad hoc reporting or financial statement inquiries, providing clear and concise information.
• Maintain proactive communication with both the internal team and clients, ensuring all pertinent information is shared and understood.
• Efficiently manage accounting responsibilities for multiple clients, maintaining high levels of organization and service.
• Work directly with management to develop, implement, and maintain high standards in accounting and bookkeeping policies and procedures.
• Continuously provide insights and suggestions for process improvements to management, aiming to enhance efficiency and accuracy in all accounting functions.
• Undertake other duties as assigned to support shareholders and contribute to the overall success of the firm.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience in bookkeeping
• Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks
• CPA designation or the ability to work towards obtaining CPA
