About the position
Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage various accounting tasks for local clients. This role focuses on financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance, making it ideal for candidates with a strong accounting background. The Senior Accountant will work independently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Manage general ledger activity, including journal entries and adjustments
- Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
