About the position

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in analyzing financial statements, managing complex transactions, and driving process improvements within the Randstad Corporate team. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with 3-5 years of experience, who will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and work with appropriate parties to correct issues promptly.
  • Review financial statements actual vs forecast and explain variances.
  • Perform complex intercompany transactions and work with local and global partners to settle and reconcile intercompany balances.
  • Perform complex balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis for high-risk accounts, including preparing journal entries.
  • Review results of assigned business areas and make necessary accounting entries; investigate and report on variances.
  • Review billing contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Manage assigned rebates and ensure that they are adequately accrued and paid.
  • Liaise with field operations and other internal departments to answer questions and provide supporting documentation.
  • Complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end close responsibilities.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting to Holdings.
  • Prepare analytics to better understand business results and work closely with the Finance Planning team to understand budgets and forecasts.
  • Lead initiatives to improve, standardize, and streamline end-to-end processes with other accountants and management.
  • Use technology to streamline manual processes.
  • Work on multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Assist in the annual audit process with external auditors.
  • Document all existing accounting procedures and processes based on a thorough understanding of areas.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as necessary.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, required.
  • CPA license or CPA track, preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, required.
  • Experience with JD Edwards, PeopleSoft and/or Hyperion, preferred.
  • Proficiency using Google mail, calendaring, and shared drives, required.
  • Strong communication skills, required.
  • Strong analytical skills, required.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and manage multiple projects at once, required.
  • Independent worker with strong time management skills, required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with JD Edwards, PeopleSoft and/or Hyperion, preferred.
