About the position

The Senior Accountant at Mozaic plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of the General Ledger and managing the monthly close process. This position is responsible for overseeing various financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and supporting the year-end financial audit. The Senior Accountant also acts as an Acumatica super-user, providing training and support to agency users while maintaining the financial system's integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy of the General Ledger.
  • Oversee the timely completion of the monthly close process.
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Credit Card Purchasing Programs.
  • Maintain the financial system in accordance with GAAP and relevant laws.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy in Representative Payee accounting and reporting.
  • Manage the chart of accounts and oversee agency accounting and reporting.
  • Support the year-end financial audit.
  • Act as an Acumatica super-user and provide training to agency users.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of all bank and investment accounts.
  • Oversee the application of policies for reporting and processing Representative Payee transactions.
  • Prepare required financial reports for government and oversight agencies.
  • Assist with audit work papers, reconciliations, and reports.
  • Respond to inquiries within 48 hours.
  • Cross-train with Finance team members for service continuity.
  • Provide support during high-volume periods.
  • Back up the AR Billing Specialist, including submitting Medicaid claims and bi-weekly billing for Medicaid Transportation.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting with three years of experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel is required.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
  • Experience with Acumatica.
  • Experience in preparation of CFR.
