About the position

The Senior Accountant will perform general accounting functions and analyses in accordance with GAAP procedures, focusing on general ledger, balance sheet, income statement accounts, and ledger reconciliation. This role involves preparing journal entries and financial statements while ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws. The position is remote, offering flexibility in work location.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily bank reconciliations and record bank activities in the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, including accounts receivable, prepaids, accruals, and other liability accounts.
• Review, reconcile, and record bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll activities.
• Responsible for internal and external wire transfers.
• Review, analyze, and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts for fluctuation at month-end close to ensure results are in accordance with US GAAP.
• Prepare, report, and maintain unclaimed property escheatment.
• Prepare, report, and maintain fixed assets accounting.
• Prepare year-end business property tax filing.
• Assist with quarterly and year-end audits.
• Maintain financial security by following internal controls and established company policies.
• Interact with other departments as necessary to resolve issues.
• Maintain consistent attendance to ensure fulfillment of essential duties and responsibilities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business or equivalent practical experience.
• Fixed Assets and Business Property Taxes experience required to be considered.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of general accounting/finance, general ledger experience required.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and knowledge of Oracle ERP accounting software preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate effectively.
