About the position

This is an opportunity for an energetic and eager Senior Staff Accountant to join a start-up in its exciting growth stage. The role involves handling accounting tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations. You will perform various accounting functions, provide crucial financial data, and ensure the preparation of precise and timely internal financial statements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monthly closing procedures and preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries with supporting documentation for review on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare and distribute routine and special reports, as requested.
  • Prepare general ledger account schedules and reconcile accordingly with supporting documentation on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with CFO to correct monthly variances.
  • Process accounts payable and ensure expenses are posted to the appropriate budgeted general ledger accounts timely.
  • Coordinate and process invoices for external 3rd party review.
  • Act as a liaison with vendors and employees to address issues related to accounts payable.
  • Request and ensure all vendor account information is correct and updated.
  • Responsible for receiving all support and approvals for bills.
  • Ensure all vendor bills received are paid on time.
  • Perform accounts payable check processing with supporting documentation on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for addressing open Purchase Orders.
  • Responsible for updating Accounts Payable logs as assigned.
  • Responsible for the preparation of credit applications.
  • Responsible with requesting New Customer forms.
  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable Collections as assigned.
  • Record daily bank deposit and make appropriate adjustments.
  • File and maintain accounting records.
  • Prepare and distribute tax forms for contractors.
  • Assist with audits.
  • Responsible for uploading contracts into electronic database, contract review, and required follow-ups.
  • Ensure that processes are completed in compliance with quality, policy, and regulatory standards as documented in the appropriate standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least a 1 year in a senior or similar role.
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs and NetSuite preferred.
