About the position

The Senior Accountant role at Salesforce involves supporting the Operating Expense Accounting team in a dynamic environment. This position focuses on month-end close processes, SOX compliance, and financial reporting, while fostering collaboration with various business operations teams. The ideal candidate will drive process improvements and maintain accurate financial data analytics to support management reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the month-end close processes including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and conducting fluctuation analyses.
  • Partner with Finance and business teams to understand and monitor monthly activity for accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Prepare schedules to support the 10Q and 10K financial reporting process.
  • Responsible for SOX compliance activities, including completing key controls and supporting testing efforts.
  • Ensure timely completion and review of all closing activities in related areas.
  • Participate in internal process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting and accounting procedures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to areas of responsibility.
  • Work with internal and external audit teams to support audits by providing necessary schedules and evidence.
  • Maintain relevant reporting of financial data analytics, including key financial metrics for management reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Accounting or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • 3-4+ years of overall combined accounting experience, with technology industry and public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience in SOX control documentation/execution.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data.
  • Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking capability.
  • Experience in process re-engineering and focus on process efficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and drive process improvement.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities effectively to meet timelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA or eligible candidate.
  • Experience in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with Workday Financials (or similar) ERP systems.
  • Experience in data analytics and/or Tableau.
