About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant for our Washington DC based organization. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of company financial information. The position requires expertise in the Great Plains accounting system and involves a mix of in-office and remote work after an initial training period.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for entering and reviewing journal entries.
• Confirm accuracy in financial reports and identify and fix discrepancies.
• Prepare, review and issue monthly client financial statements and identifying and explain variances.
• Calculate amounts owed and/or due from property owners in accordance with contractual agreements.
• Reconciles bank and general ledger accounts.
• Ability to interpret complex lease agreements requirements when determining amounts owed to landlords.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Accounting experience
• Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains accounting system (2 years of experience required)
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
