About the position
The Senior Accountant will oversee the entry and review of transactions related to manufacturing operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in transaction-level data. This role is crucial for daily accounting functions and involves managing month-end tasks, including journal entries for various financial aspects. The position requires collaboration with other departments and adherence to compliance standards, particularly those set by Sarbanes-Oxley.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entry and review of transactions tied to manufacturing operations.
- Support inventory management and job-related tasks, including reviews for inventory obsolescence.
- Analyze sales, costs, and margins to facilitate job closure processes.
- Calculate and prepare general journal entries for rebates, commissions, inventory, work in progress (WIP), and revenue.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Uphold compliance with company policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting, specifically in subledger or general ledger accounting.
- Experience with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and COSO internal control framework.
- Demonstrated expertise in accounting and financial analysis, particularly in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including sumif, lookup functions, and pivot tables.
