About the position

The Senior Accountant position is a permanent, full-time role within a well-known organization that offers a positive work environment and opportunities for upward mobility. The role is crucial for maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, ensuring compliance with GAAP guidelines, and conducting thorough reviews of financial records.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting functions including G/L, fixed assets, and reconciliations.
• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary.
• Assist with the closing of monthly and annual financial periods.
• Understand and apply GAAP accounting principles.
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related field.
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially in Excel, and experience with accounting software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
