About the position

The Senior Accountant role is a challenging and rewarding position within the Finance team, aimed at supporting key Finance initiatives during a period of organizational transformation. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong interpersonal skills, contributing to the evolution of Finance and Accounting processes while providing guidance to other accounting staff.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of journal entries within PeopleSoft ERP as part of month-end close.
  • Conduct complex accounting analyses, month-end GL reconciliations, and rollforward processes.
  • Generate and interpret financial records and statements for management; escalate matters as necessary.
  • Provide support to the Corporate Accounting team related to day-to-day financial matters.
  • Evaluate processes for improvements and create process documentation.
  • Play an integral role in new process implementation resulting from business changes and accounting rule updates.
  • Proactively address inquiries from other departments and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key resource in connection with monthly and quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
  • Load approved annual budget and establish monthly recurring entries based on budgetary data.
  • Assist in maintenance, provisioning, validation, and testing of financial applications.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience within an Accounting or Finance environment, preferably in public accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a team environment.
  • Analytical and statistical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Peoplesoft or SAP ERP software.
  • Routine maintenance of ERP application including patch testing and report updates.
  • Process analysis and implementation experience.
  • CPA preferred or actively pursuing.
