Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and test internal controls to identify weaknesses, assess risks, and provide recommendations to enhance financial integrity.
  • Oversee and review the work of junior auditors, providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to ensure audit objectives are met.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients during audit engagements, communicating progress, discussing audit findings, and delivering solutions to address any issues or concerns.
  • Prepare and review audit reports, including detailed analysis of financial statements, risk areas, and compliance issues. Present findings to clients and management.
  • Ensure that audit processes adhere to regulatory requirements, identify areas of financial risk, and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting and auditing standards, as well as industry best practices, to improve audit methodologies and client service.
  • Monitor the progress of audit engagements and ensure work is completed within budget and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in auditing or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in external auditing.
  • 3 years of experience in internal controls.
  • 5 years of experience with financial statements.
  • Experience with GAAP and tax compliance.
  • Experience in risk management and government accounting.
  • Proficiency in Excel with 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in audit reporting with 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting with 3 years of experience.
  • 6 years of general accounting and finance skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA certification (preferred) or willingness to earn CPA (company paid).
  • Experience with ProSystem, ATX, and Qbs.
