Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a highly skilled individual to provide leadership in the analysis and review of financial data, as well as the preparation of financial statements and reports. This role requires an advanced application of accounting concepts, theories, practices, and terminology. The successful candidate will apply complex accounting principles and regulations to practice and production, guiding the accounting staff in the application of these principles. Additionally, the position involves providing guidance to executive leadership on complex accounting transactions and developing accounting policies and procedures for the organization. In this role, you will lead the evaluation and recommendation of improvements in accounting system procedures to ensure the accurate application of accounting principles. You will define, analyze, and coordinate the input of financial information into the general ledger system, while also evaluating and approving accounting expertise. The position requires a thorough review and facilitation of complex reconciliations of unique data, necessitating a deep understanding of multiple transaction sources. You will be responsible for preparing highly technical, complex, non-routine financial reports and schedules, as well as projections for future periods. Moreover, you will design, develop, and recommend options for projection methodologies and models to illustrate the effects of proposals on the organization. Coordination of complex regulatory audits will also be part of your responsibilities, along with developing and presenting recommendations for future corrective actions to ensure compliance. Staying informed of changes in accounting literature and providing guidance on the recording of complex transactions and the implementation of accounting principles will be crucial to your success in this role.
