About the position

The Senior Accounting Manager for the Natrium project at TerraPower will oversee general ledger accountability, enhance accounting operations, and support financial reporting and analysis in a fast-paced environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and improving the efficiency of accounting processes while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, reporting, reconciliations, and related supporting schedules for subsidiaries and corporate.
  • Manage key areas of the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting and variance analysis.
  • Enhance existing accounting procedures and internal controls, seeking opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform intercompany transfers and develop good working relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Support general accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and intercompany transactions.
  • Develop, document, and process cost allocations among different legal entities and projects.
  • Setup and implement a cost accounting system for operations.
  • Perform indirect cost allocation, consolidation, and reporting.
  • Handle fixed asset and inventory processing and reporting.
  • Assist with budget planning and analysis, and conduct financial and profitability analysis as requested.
  • Support financial projects such as year-end close, audit, tax package, and budgets.
  • Assist with the annual financial audit with independent auditors, maintaining balance sheet integrity and accuracy.
  • Assist in transitioning from cash basis to US GAAP accounting and support accounting system-related projects.
  • Review contracts for accounting/tax implications and prepare project cost analysis to measure and monitor project financial performance.
  • Perform accounting analysis and prepare memos for accounting treatment of project construction costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, with preference for CPA or CMA certification.
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive accounting experience, including management roles.

  • Familiarity with US GAAP accounting standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
