As our Senior Accounting Manager, you'll oversee the financial aspects of our real estate projects. You'll focus on month-end close, revenue recognition (ASC 606), equity method accounting, and coordinating annual audits. We're seeking a diligent, proactive, meticulous individual with excellent communication and time management skills who can streamline our processes. This is a hybrid role reporting into our Richardson, TX office 2 - 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate ASC 606 in relation to revenue recognition for activities concerning real estate sales and development.
  • Collaborate closely with market leaders, project managers, legal, and corporate finance teams to guarantee precise and compliant revenue recognition.
  • Manage and supervise equity method accounting for real estate investments, ensuring meticulous recording and reporting in strict accordance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of disclosures and footnotes related to equity method investments.
  • Partner with the CBRE technical accounting team to prepare/review VIE/VOE analysis.
  • Conduct comprehensive lease analysis in compliance with ASC 842 standards to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory adherence.
  • Support the month-end close process, ensuring adherence to strict timelines and compliance with SEC reporting standards.
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts specific to real estate development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accurately account for project-specific financial transactions.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls related to financial reporting processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting activities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • CPA with public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of U.S. public company internal control and reporting requirements.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and real estate accounting principles.
  • Experience with SOX compliance, processes and control environments.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams, external auditors, and senior management within a publicly traded environment.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, OneStream, Cadency, TM1, PowerBI, and/or Alteryx preferred.
