About the position

The Senior Accounting Manager at Front will play a crucial role in building and scaling the accounting function to support the company's growth. This position involves managing all aspects of general ledger accounting and ensuring compliance with US GAAP. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and contribute positively to the company culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of the month-end close process, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and financial reporting in a timely manner.
  • Provide oversight and review of core accounting operations including technical accounting, equity, international accounting, accounts payable, and procurement.
  • Manage, develop, and coach a strong team, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Optimize existing systems and help design planned integrations to scale operations and accelerate the month-end close timeline.
  • Own the annual financial statement audit with a Big 4 firm, serving as a key liaison with auditors and external consultants, and manage the drafting of the annual financial statements.
  • Perform technical accounting research and prepare/review technical memorandums that document issues and conclusions clearly and comprehensively.
  • Help to build and maintain a comprehensive policy and procedures manual for all accounting and financial reporting functions.
  • Establish strong relationships with cross-functional peers, becoming a change agent for implementing new insights and process improvements with an eye towards internal controls.

Requirements

  • CPA with 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a management role.
  • Public accounting experience is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial statement preparation, with SaaS accounting and industry knowledge a plus.
  • Proficiency in evaluating, implementing, and optimizing the accounting tech stack, with NetSuite experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively across functions and levels throughout the company.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with big-picture strategic understanding.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Airbase, Carta, FloQast, and/or CapIQ is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for building great teams and a positive attitude.
