About the position

The position involves overseeing all aspects of the general ledger related to specified areas, ensuring accuracy and completeness. The individual will conduct month-end general ledger close and deliver timely, accurate financial reports in accordance with US GAAP. This role also includes coordinating annual audits in the UK and Singapore, which involves the preparation of financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS, respectively. In addition to these responsibilities, the position requires supervision and development of day-to-day managers, seniors, and staff transactional activities. Clear communication of directives is essential, along with follow-up and clarification to ensure comprehension across the team. The individual will prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations and account analyses, conduct monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet variance analysis, and prepare financial schedules and reports for both internal and external stakeholders and auditors, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Collaboration with various departments is necessary to ensure accurate recording of business transactions and resolution of reconciliation discrepancies. The role also involves understanding and evaluating accounting systems, advocating for process improvements and system automation to optimize performance. Regular training for staff on accounting systems and support on software functionality, implementations, and enhancements will be part of the responsibilities. The individual will develop and document accounting policies, processes, and procedures to establish strong internal controls and act as a liaison between accounting teams and various IT consultants or third parties for new system implementations, issue resolution, and day-to-day operations. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team to achieve common goals is crucial, as well as undertaking special projects as needed to address emerging business needs and support organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills for both accounting and political issues
  • Lease accounting experience a plus
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently
  • Works effectively, both independently, and within a team environment using sound judgment and decision-making
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel (must be comfortable with pivots, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Strong sense of leadership and strategic agility
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related degree
  • Five to Eight (5-8) years of accounting experience or relevant work experience
  • Public Accounting Experience (preferred)
