The Senior Accounting Manager at Vaco will oversee a midsized team in a complex accounting environment, particularly within the aviation sector. This role requires a CPA or someone in the process of obtaining their CPA, and it emphasizes leadership and mentorship within the accounting operations. The position involves managing intricate intercompany transactions and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while supporting financial decision-making through data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Manage accounting transactions and reconciliations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll
• Prepare budgets and forecasts, and report on variances
• Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
• Participate in financial audits and coordinate audit activities
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
• Help develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Supervise accounting staff and provide guidance as needed

Requirements

• CPA or CPA in-process required
• Leadership experience over the full scope and breadth of accounting operations
• Strong focus on mentorship and growth
• Exposure to large, publicly traded operations
