About the position

The Senior Accounting Manager at ENFIN plays a critical role in managing the accounting functions related to the residential renewable energy business. This position requires extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting and finance-related issues, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior leadership on tax returns and provide advisory services for renewable energy tax equity structures. The role demands creativity, collaboration, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while driving initiatives across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation
  • Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures compliance with GAAP or financial reporting standards
  • Audits accounts to ensure compliance with regulations; coordinates with outside auditors for annual external audit
  • Develops and implements accounting policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Manages the full financial process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Reviews and approves month-end close journal entries, including payroll, accruals, prepaids, amortizations
  • Establishes processes for key deliverables and leads continuous improvement activities
  • Serves as the lead point of contact on process creation and enhancement, including SOX and internal control matters
  • Partners closely with cross-functional teams to understand key processes within the organization
  • Prepares tax returns and provides advisory services related to renewable energy tax equity structures
  • Optimizes accounting processes by identifying opportunities for automation and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or another business-related field
  • 8+ years progressive accounting and/or finance experience
  • CPA license
  • Experience working with ERP systems and databases
  • Ability to execute in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding environment
  • Ability to influence across the company and interact at all levels
  • Experience with finance and revenue accounting
  • Audit experience
  • Experience with internal controls and process improvement
  • Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Experience with Revenue Recognition policies and technical accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and hedge accounting
  • Knowledge of financial systems, analysis methodologies, and technical standards applicable to corporate accounting and finance
  • Professional presence and ability to lead teams and influence others
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment under strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in accounting or another business-related field
  • 1 year of experience at a Big 4 accounting firm
