About the position

The Project Coordinator will serve as the Project Lead for the UL Solutions Global Accounting team, reporting directly to the SVP & Chief Accounting Officer. This hybrid role requires the individual to work three days a week from either the Northbrook or Chicago office. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating various public company activities, including meetings, scheduling, signatures, and managing attendees. This position demands a high level of organization and the ability to maintain order for the leaders' schedules, desk, and day-to-day tasks. In addition to scheduling and coordination, the Project Coordinator will manage goal deliverables for the global team, ensuring that project timelines are adhered to and escalating any issues that arise. The role also involves liaising with internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance on action items, providing support for outside spending, vendor management, and purchase processes. Furthermore, the Project Coordinator will oversee the continuing education program (CPE) for certified accountants and team members, assist with budget management and accruals, and support the team in communicating project status to customers. Understanding the stakeholders and their needs is crucial, as is adherence to the UL Solutions Code of Conduct and all physical and digital security practices. The Project Coordinator may also perform other duties as directed, contributing to the overall success of the team and organization.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a financial coordinating role with project management responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of objectives, processes, and procedures of a public company financial department.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience managing SharePoint and webpages.
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work in a large, international corporate environment.
