About the position

The Senior Acquisition Logistics Manager at Astrion plays a crucial role in supporting the USAF cryptographic modernization initiative through the Engineering, Professional, and Administrative Support Services contract. This position involves coordinating logistics efforts, advising government program managers, and ensuring compliance with DoD regulations while fostering a collaborative environment for project success.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with communications security technical and functional personnel on logistics integrated product support (IPS) elements.
  • Advise Government program managers on logistics documentation required by DoD Instruction 5000.02.
  • Translate users' desires into government program documents such as Item Unique Identification Implementation Plan, Life Cycle Sustainment Plan, and Contract Data Requirements Lists.
  • Review & validate logistics documents for accuracy, clarity, and consistency with acquisition regulations.
  • Identify potential logistic and program management issues and suggest changes.
  • Assist with acquisition market research to investigate parts supplier capability and recommend sources for procurement actions.
  • Update databases to identify national stock number requirements and participate in program provisioning.
  • Maintain audit trails, such as long lead items listing and program risk attributed to parts lead times.

Requirements

  • Masters degree and 12 years of directly related experience, with 5 years in DoD; or 15 years of directly related experience in lieu of a masters degree, with 5 years in DoD; or 20 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
  • Acquisition logistics experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of DoD integrated life-cycle management and integrated logistics support as it applies to acquisition programs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • COMSEC acquisition or sustainment experience preferred.
