About the position

The Senior Actuarial Analyst I - Health at QBE Americas Inc. is a pivotal role that focuses on providing qualitative and technical support in various areas including product development, financial analysis, management reporting, and actuarial research. This position requires the application of a variety of actuarial and statistical concepts, practices, and procedures to deliver timely analyses for key stakeholders. The successful candidate will leverage technology in innovative ways, effectively communicate issues, and propose solutions to enhance current analyses and explore new opportunities. In this role, the analyst will construct analytical approaches by determining data needs, identifying appropriate data sources, and recognizing data anomalies while optimizing resource use. The position demands adherence to quality service standards, ensuring that all worksheets and analyses are clearly documented and reviewed by a senior actuary, all while meeting deadlines without compromising quality. The analyst will execute actuarial analyses in a clear and organized manner tailored to the appropriate audience. Building deep relationships within the department and meaningful connections outside of it through project interactions is essential. The analyst will also engage in recruitment activities and assist in the development of junior actuaries. Contributions to systems, models, and procedural revisions will be made by conducting research and recommending changes to enhance efficiency and competitiveness in the market. The role includes sharing technical expertise to resolve basic actuarial modeling and risk issues, supporting the department by taking personal accountability for tasks, and actively pursuing further development and enrichment opportunities, including maintaining continuing education requirements if already credentialed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 2 years relevant experience.
