About the position

The Senior Actuarial Analyst position at Milliman's Seattle Health Practice focuses on Medicare Part D and requires strong actuarial skills, effective communication, and leadership abilities. Responsibilities

  • Work on Medicare Part D, Medicare Advantage, forecasting and bids.
  • Provide strategic guidance to local and regional health plans regarding the impacts of the Inflation Reduction Act and other regulatory and market forces.
  • Perform analysis of healthcare data.
  • Write reports that explain technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience.
  • Manage projects through completion within an expected budget.
  • Supervise actuarial students in the completion of technical aspects of actuarial projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.
  • Successful completion of four or more (4+) Society of Actuaries exams.
  • 4-10 years of healthcare actuarial experience, including three or more years with Medicare Part D and bid development.
  • Strong understanding of the US healthcare system.
  • Proficiency with Excel and some knowledge of SAS and/or SQL.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments.
