The Senior Actuarial Analyst position at Prime Therapeutics is a remote role that plays a crucial part in supporting the analytical needs of the assigned business unit. This position collaborates with both national and local leadership to drive cost efficiency and enhance quality within the market or business. The analyst will provide subject matter expertise regarding current and historical cost experiences, cost drivers, and trends to the Medical Economics leadership team. The role requires the use of technical skills to efficiently respond to analytical requests and proactively build tools and reports that will improve market and business intelligence. The analyst is accountable for ensuring that analytics are timely and accurate, which is essential for informed decision-making. In this role, the Senior Actuarial Analyst will lead the analysis and development of efficient reporting on high-cost drug trends and the impacts of management strategies for health plan clients. The ideal candidate will possess expert skills in data analysis, experience in building automated models and reporting, and a solid understanding of the healthcare industry. Intellectual curiosity is also a key trait for success in this position. The analyst will communicate throughout end-to-end projects with a cross-functional team that includes analysts, actuaries, clinicians, IT, and underwriting professionals. The responsibilities include providing analytical support for local health plans or business units to aid in strategic decision-making and cost efficiency. The analyst will develop and maintain subject matter expertise in data extraction and quality assurance, as well as current and historical cost experiences and trend drivers. Additionally, the role supports Actuarial and Finance leaders to ensure budget and forecast accuracy, and assists key business leaders in identifying cost efficiency and quality improvement opportunities through reporting and analytics. The use of SQL, Excel, and other Business Intelligence tools is essential for defining, extracting, validating, shaping, and interpreting data to meet business needs, with a strong emphasis on the accuracy of the work product. The analyst will effectively manage analytical priorities across regular reporting, ad hoc requests, and the development of ongoing strategic activities, while also supporting cost of care initiative tracking, savings and ROI estimates, and KPI dashboards for designated health plans or business units. Building effective cross-functional relationships within Medical Economics and across Finance, Actuarial, and other key business areas is crucial, as is mentoring peers and co-workers as appropriate. The candidate should have attained or be actively working towards the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.
