About the position

The Senior Actuarial Analyst position at Emergent Holdings is focused on supporting Medicare Advantage bids through rate filing development, data acquisition, pricing, competitive analysis, and process management. The role involves complex analysis, research, and making recommendations to leadership, while ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of insurance data. The analyst will also drive key department processes and may provide guidance to less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced actuarial concepts to perform complex analysis and conduct research.
• Ensure completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness of all insurance data used in outputs.
• Independently recommend specific courses of action considering various impacts.
• Define the scope of major projects and coordinate their completion.
• Assess and implement efficiency-enhancing processes.
• Respond to requests from internal departments and prioritize work of peers.
• Drive key department processes and provide technical guidance to less experienced team members.
• Remain current on actuarial techniques and understand corporate objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related area.
• Four years of related actuarial experience, with preference for at least one year of BCN/BCBSM actuarial experience.
• Earned at least four course credits toward the FSA designation and be a member in good standing of the Actuarial Development Program.
• Knowledge of actuarial methods and practices.
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to apply appropriate planning and prioritization techniques.
