About the position

The Senior Actuarial Analyst position at Sentry involves providing analytical support primarily for Workers Compensation insurance, as well as Commercial Automobile and General Liability. The role focuses on loss sensitive pricing, actuarial techniques, and financial reporting, requiring a blend of analytical skills and business acumen to address real-world insurance challenges.

Responsibilities

• Support loss sensitive pricing for large accounts, focusing on Workers Compensation, Commercial Automobile, and General Liability.
• Apply and recommend changes to actuarial techniques and procedures for evaluating loss and expense reserves, preparing rate filings, and establishing pricing levels.
• Perform and coordinate research projects, summarizing and analyzing trend observations and their impact on profit and growth objectives.
• Prepare financial reports and conduct analytical actuarial studies.
• Calculate premiums or reserves for products and perform complex analysis, including data collection and analysis to determine the effects of various components.
• Perform advanced statistical analysis of management issues and make recommendations based on the analysis.
• Provide advanced technical actuarial support for other departments as needed.
• Recommend and initiate advanced actuarial techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience with an emphasis in mathematics or actuarial science.
• 3-6 years of experience in an actuarial environment.
• 2+ years of related work experience.
• Completed 4 or more actuarial exams.
• Strong background in statistics, economics, computers, finance business, or accounting.
