About the position

The Senior Actuarial Analyst position at ConcertoCare is a critical role within the finance team, focusing on building, maintaining, and automating actuarial models to support pricing, forecasting, and performance measurement of value-based care contracts. The role requires a candidate who can effectively work with complex data and provide insights to inform market and clinical leaders, contributing to the company's expansion efforts across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the monthly reserve-setting process applying both modeling and judgment.
  • Quantify and highlight drivers of variance to the financial plan by line of business.
  • Track risk-adjustment and revenue projections.
  • Support business development discussions with recommendations on risk-sharing arrangements using analytics.
  • Model various pricing structures and financial guardrails for each line of business.
  • Improve, build, maintain, and document new financial forecasting and pricing models.
  • Collaborate with IT to create reporting in analytic tools like Power BI.
  • Perform analytics and reporting on existing and new programs.
  • Conduct studies on the value of clinical interventions and programs.
  • Enhance predictive analytics and clinical algorithms to optimize outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial studies, statistics, or related field preferred.
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) preferred, with 2+ exams required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the healthcare actuarial field, particularly in health insurance product design, reserving/forecasting, and Medicare bid pricing.
  • Value-based contracting modeling experience strongly preferred.
  • Actuarial consulting experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience in Government healthcare contracts (Medicare and Medicaid) preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, SQL, SAS, or other coding languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in actuarial consulting.
  • Strong understanding of health insurance product design, ideally Medicare and Medicaid.
