About the position

The Senior Actuarial Analyst position at Sentry involves providing analytical support for Workers Compensation and other insurance products within the National Accounts business unit. The role focuses on loss sensitive pricing, actuarial techniques, and complex data analysis to support financial objectives and recommendations. This position is based in Stevens Point, WI, and is not fully remote, requiring in-office work on certain days.

Responsibilities

• Support loss sensitive pricing for large accounts, primarily in Workers Compensation, as well as Commercial Automobile and General Liability.
• Apply and recommend changes to actuarial techniques and procedures for evaluating loss and expense reserves, preparing rate filings, and establishing pricing levels.
• Perform and coordinate research projects, summarizing and analyzing trend observations to impact profit and growth objectives.
• Prepare financial reports and conduct analytical actuarial studies.
• Calculate premiums or reserves for products and perform complex analysis, including data collection and analysis of various components.
• Perform advanced statistical analysis of management issues and provide recommendations based on the analysis.
• Provide advanced technical actuarial support for other departments as needed.
• Recommend and initiate advanced actuarial techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience with an emphasis in mathematics or actuarial science.
• 3-6 years of experience in an actuarial environment.
• 2+ years of related work experience.
• Completed 4 or more actuarial exams.
• Strong background in statistics, economics, computers, finance business, or accounting.
