About the position

We are seeking an Associate Actuary (ASA) with a minimum of 6 years of experience to assess and interpret financial risk, conduct product line evaluations, and develop actuarial documentation. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products are financially sound and compliant with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of actuarial principles, particularly in the context of healthcare insurance. You will be responsible for collaborating with various teams to provide insights that drive business decisions and improve our product offerings. Additionally, you will be involved in rate filing processes, with a preference for candidates who have experience in the state of California. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to contribute to our mission from various locations including Aurora, CO, Oakland, CA, Pasadena, CA, Portland, OR, Renton, WA, and San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and interpret financial risk associated with healthcare products.
  • Conduct product line evaluations to ensure profitability and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain actuarial documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actuarial insights for business decisions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in actuarial roles, preferably in healthcare insurance.
  • ASA designation or equivalent actuarial qualification.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in actuarial software and tools.
  • Experience with rate filing processes and regulatory compliance.
