Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct the administration of a large department or unit.
  • Manage budgetary, personnel, faculty, and other administrative matters for Information Systems and Cyber Security.
  • Relieve administrators of administrative matters and decisions using initiative and independent judgment.
  • Act as an administrative specialist for the department or unit.
  • Handle complex office decisions and oversee the coordination of administrative duties.
  • Supervise, hire, and train clerical staff while maintaining personnel files.
  • Implement and execute organizational policies, work rules, and operating procedures.
  • Assist in preparing department and/or unit fiscal year operating budgets.
  • Maintain accounting records, prepare monthly reports, and approve expenditures for multiple accounts.
  • Collect data from various sources, analyze for accuracy, and prepare complex reports, charts, and graphs.
  • Provide counsel to administrators on departmental or institutional matters.
  • Create arrangements for official guests and receive them in the absence of the administrator.
  • Assist co-workers in various tasks to ensure safety and create recommendations to improve safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Nine (9) years of increasingly responsible administrative, clerical, or office experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree may be substituted for five (5) years of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in everyday work situations while utilizing independent judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
