About the position

The Senior Administrative Coordinator for the Family Medicine Residency Program at UTHealth is responsible for supporting the day-to-day academic and operational activities of the program. This role involves assisting the program director, faculty, and residents, while also managing various business and financial processes within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the day-to-day business and financial processes of the Family Medicine Residency Program.
  • Verifies accuracy of personnel and payroll transactions in accordance with university policies.
  • Handles confidential information and sensitive issues related to personnel actions.
  • Coordinates and schedules Human Resources activities including recruitment and selection.
  • Monitors expenditures and provides budget status reports as requested.
  • Monitors travel, purchasing, payroll, timekeeping, contracts, and grants.
  • Maintains departmental equipment and space inventories.
  • Provides approval of purchase requisitions based on established guidelines.
  • Serves as an administrative liaison regarding business and financial issues.
  • Advises on financial and business practices and may draft policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field required.
  • Three (3) years of related work experience required.
  • Prior experience in finance, accounting, business administration, or business management required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of standard Office Software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced working knowledge of University financial systems is preferred.
