About the position

The Senior Administrator in the Office of the Dean at the College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) serves as a high-level administrative leader responsible for managing strategic initiatives, operational challenges, and institutional priorities. This role involves collaboration with the Dean and Senior Associate Dean to enhance operational efficiency and implement critical projects across the college.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee strategic projects across MSUCOM, ensuring seamless coordination between departments, faculty, and external partners.
  • Collaborate directly with the Dean and Senior Associate Dean of Strategic Initiatives to manage and resolve institutional challenges and opportunities.
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across the College, utilizing Lean methodologies and other efficiency models.
  • Oversee complex workflows and communications across multiple departments, ensuring alignment with the College's mission and goals.
  • Manage operational and administrative functions leveraging expertise from prior leadership roles.
  • Develop and administer high-level policies and procedures that support compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in budget planning, financial performance assessments, and resource management to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Act as the liaison for the Dean's office with external partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, and personnel management for key roles within the College.
  • Coordinate with IT and other technical departments to enhance operational reporting and monitoring processes.
  • Represent MSUCOM in strategic discussions with state and federal officials, hospital partners, and other external entities.
  • Maintain flexibility to work across multiple physical locations and adapt to the dynamic needs of the college.

Requirements

  • Knowledge equivalent to a four-year college degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management, or related field.
  • Five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in financial management and analysis or personnel management.
  • Proven track record in senior-level administrative roles, particularly within healthcare, pathology, personnel management, or academic institutions.
  • Significant experience in managing large-scale projects, budgets, and strategic initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, multidisciplinary workflows.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to managing institutional challenges and opportunities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Additional training and certifications in business acumen, leadership, and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with the operations of health systems, academic institutions, and medical programs.
