About the position

The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Formlabs will lead a team of manufacturing engineering professionals to support global manufacturing, supply chain, and quality initiatives. This role focuses on sustaining manufacturing lines, transitioning new products into production, and ensuring high-quality manufacturing processes. The position emphasizes collaboration across various engineering disciplines and requires a strong background in manufacturing engineering for complex electro-mechanical products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of manufacturing engineering professionals supporting global manufacturing and supply chain efforts.
  • Sustain manufacturing lines at contract manufacturers and support transitions into production.
  • Characterize process and product failures, conduct root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Own manufacturing process control and issue prevention, ensuring reliability, quality, and yield.
  • Drive team collaboration on complex engineering and operational challenges as a player coach.
  • Manage manufacturing technical readiness as part of cross-functional NPI teams, focusing on producibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Resolve first article inspections and product assembly issues, driving manufacturing readiness and capacity.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, or related field).
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering management or team leadership role.
  • 5+ years of technical experience in manufacturing engineering for complex electro-mechanical products.
  • Experience with remotely managed NPI and transitioning products from prototype to mass production.
  • Expertise in production quality metrics, GD&T, and process/equipment qualification procedures.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis methods and structured problem-solving techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Proto, EVT, DVT, PVT, and MP product development processes.
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (JMP, Minitab) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power Bi, SQL).
  • CAD modeling skills in On Shape or Solidworks.
