About the position

The Senior Advisor, Data Quality Standards at Southern California Edison (SCE) is a pivotal role focused on developing, implementing, and sustaining data standards across various domains including Data Quality, Data Engineering, and Data Governance. This position requires collaboration with multiple teams to ensure data quality, compliance, and alignment with emerging technologies, ultimately contributing to SCE's mission of driving innovation and sustainability in the clean energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees customer fraud prevention activities and mitigates privacy incidents.
  • Develops and reviews information governance policies, standards, presentations, communications, and trainings.
  • Creates materials for internal and external audits, assessments, and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensures projects align with information governance policies and standards.
  • Contributes to product assessments for emerging technology platforms and new service offerings.
  • Provides complex input to strategic business initiatives within the information governance practice.
  • Leads coordination of data quality remediation plans for non-compliant data.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of an Information Governance process framework.
  • Engages in business continuity policy development and process mapping.
  • Leads efforts to support and comply with corporate records and information management and the Data Privacy program.

Requirements

  • Ten or more years of experience with information governance and data management practices and processes.
  • Five or more years of experience in data management including data architecture, data modeling, data engineering, developing data pipelines, and database administration.
  • Experience leading data governance activities including establishing standards and building relationships.
  • Experience with technologies such as SAP, Snowflake, GCP, and Vertex AI.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • One or more related certifications, such as DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), TOGAF Certification, or SnowPro Certification.
  • Experience developing PowerBI dashboards and reports.
  • Experience with data quality tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with data catalog tools and metadata management.
