About the position

The Senior Agile Project Manager at Schwab is responsible for leading enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives within the Schwab Technology Services (STS) Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) organization. This role involves managing large, complex technology projects that support the firm's Contact Center technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client needs. The position requires expertise in both traditional project management and scaled agile methodologies, as the organization transitions to a more agile framework.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives.
  • Manage a portfolio of large, complex projects including product launches, application development, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Drive technology projects that enable Schwab's Client Service and Support business objectives.
  • Engage with officer-level audiences to present project information and updates.
  • Mobilize and motivate teams, set direction, and resolve conflicts effectively.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of project management experience managing large, complex, cross-functional projects.
  • 8+ years of experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Experience managing a concurrent portfolio of work greater than $4M.
  • 5+ years of experience in team mobilization and conflict resolution.
  • 4+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience building relationships with stakeholders and sponsors.
  • 2+ years of experience communicating with clarity and precision at all organizational levels.
  • 2+ years of experience working with product development and technology partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Scaled agile methodology experience (e.g., SAFe, Lean).
  • Release Train Engineer experience.
  • Background in the financial services industry.
  • PMP or PMI-ACP certification.
  • Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization.
  • Expertise with financial data and related technology.
