About the position

The Senior Agile Project Manager at New Balance plays a crucial role in guiding, managing, and delivering projects that contribute to the overall growth of the business. This position requires a blend of project management skills and agile execution to implement best-fit methodologies while supporting the global strategy and long-term goals of New Balance. The role involves collaboration with vendors and various program roles to ensure successful delivery of critical initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall project management to identified projects/workstreams, promoting an agile mindset and culture.
  • Serve as Scrum Master and coach to facilitate best-in-class agile practices.
  • Schedule and facilitate necessary meetings and track related action items.
  • Pursue iterative process improvements and foster collaborative conversations.
  • Promote consistent estimating practices for predictability and planning.
  • Work with outside vendors and internal teams to manage project activities and provide governance.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and issues, escalating as necessary.
  • Provide RAG state and status updates to business and IT stakeholders.
  • Track project budget and invoice expenditures as needed.
  • Contribute to the NB IT PM/Agile center of excellence.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree with 7+ years of experience in a relevant technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Agile Project Manager in IT or a similar field.
  • Understanding of agile culture, principles, and scrum/kanban methodology; Scrum Master certification preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with the software development life cycle.
  • Exposure to relevant domain areas such as product, merchandising, retail, marketing, manufacturing, or supply chain preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and work independently.
