The Detroit Labs OnSite Business Unit is looking for experienced Senior Agile Technical Project Managers to join an exciting project with an existing client that drives game-changing automotive technology. This role will work on connected vehicle services for customers owning vehicles with connected capabilities across the USA and Canada. These systems consist of several backend, frontend, and middleware applications. The systems integrate with the connectivity units inside the vehicle, enabling features like the ability to remotely start the vehicle, view parking locations, Alexa voice commands, and many more. As a full-time member of our OnSite Business Unit team, we prioritize your individual career growth by providing optional check-in support, a yearly retro, and access to a variety of learning resources to ensure you are always growing and working towards your goals. This is a full-time salaried hybrid role located in Auburn Hills, MI. You must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and prioritize multiple high-profile projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and resource allocation
  • Provide communication and documentation for all project progress and deliverables
  • Foster an environment of cooperation and collaboration with corporate management, business leaders, and stakeholders
  • Coach, mentor, develop and lead a best-in-class development team capable of delivering excellent results through agile iterative development methodologies to solving complex technical and business challenges
  • Report to senior executives on the progress of individual projects and the overall program
  • Ensure development and delivery is aligned with prioritized program roadmap targets and Release Management processes
  • Participate in the creation of project budgets for the individual project components, and prepare cost estimates for the program
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in overall project management by prioritizing, planning and tracking project progress
  • Lead technical decisions and solutioning to minimize the duration and severity of business impacts leveraging ITIL standards, and to ensure up-time and stability SLAs are achieved
  • Provide high quality service to our business customers as a primary support contact for our applications
  • Provide technical direction through the outlining of 'stories' and sprints to the Connected Services development team supporting the customer web portal, Liferay platform, architecture, technical solutions and code
  • Work a hybrid work schedule, coming into the Auburn Hills office a minimum of three days per week

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience managing software development projects
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Experience executing Agile ceremonies and events such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and refinement sessions
  • Experience managing Agile artifacts such as Sprint Backlogs, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder priorities
  • Proficiency in Agile tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Visio, and Azure DevOps
  • Experience managing cross-functional team of software developers, analysts, DevOps engineers, and QA resources, with experience in leading all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and proactively mitigating risks through the software development lifecycle
  • Ability to address, escalate, and resolve project roadblocks
  • Exceptional leadership skills and an ability to foster a collaborative team environment
  • A background in coding/software development is a plus
