About the position

The Senior AI Engineer will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing AI solutions specifically tailored for tax professionals. This position focuses on leveraging large language models (LLMs) to automate complex tasks, thereby enabling tax professionals to concentrate on more valuable advisory and filing services. The role involves continuous improvement of AI methodologies and the integration of new product features to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve LLM methods for zero-shot retrieval, hybrid semantic search, and document analysis.
• Implement domain-specific pretraining and fine-tuning of LLMs to enhance accuracy in specific tasks.
• Design LLM agents that produce high-quality, long-form work outputs.
• Rapidly prototype and integrate new product features for customer-specific projects.
• Create robust evaluation protocols that combine human preference judgments with synthetic data.

Requirements

• Extensive experience working with LLMs and NLP/NLU models.
• Strong ability to translate open-ended problems into actionable goals and execute them swiftly.
• Excellent communicator with both technical and strategic expertise.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-velocity environment, preferably in a start-up setting.
• Technical hands-on experience in a player-coach model, combining leadership with a strong technical background.

Nice-to-haves

• OCR/computer vision experience is a plus.
