About the position

The Senior AI Engineer at Capital One is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting AI software components that enhance customer interactions and improve internal processes. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products, leveraging advanced AI technologies, and contributing to the technical vision of foundational AI systems. The position aims to create responsible and reliable AI systems that transform banking experiences for customers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
• Invent and introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI plus at least 3 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or Master's degree.
• At least 3 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Nice-to-haves

• 4 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms.
• Experience developing, delivering, and supporting AI services.
• Experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field.
• Experience developing and applying state-of-the-art techniques for optimizing training and inference software.
