About the position

The Senior AI Engineer at Capital One will play a pivotal role in developing responsible and reliable AI systems that enhance customer experiences and streamline banking operations. This position involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered products, leveraging advanced technologies and innovative techniques to optimize performance and scalability of AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and large language model inference.
• Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters and PyTorch.
• Invent and introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve performance of large scale production AI systems.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI plus at least 3 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or Master's degree.
• At least 3 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Nice-to-haves

• 4 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field.
• Experience optimizing training and inference software for improved hardware utilization and cost.
