About the position

The Senior AI Engineer at Capital One is responsible for developing and deploying AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions and improve internal processes. This role involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to design, implement, and optimize AI systems, ensuring they are scalable, responsible, and effective in delivering value to millions of customers. The position emphasizes innovation in AI technologies and requires a strong technical foundation in engineering and mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
• Invent and introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI plus at least 3 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or Master's degree.
• At least 3 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Nice-to-haves

• 4 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms.
• Experience developing, delivering, and supporting AI services.
• Experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies using Python, C+, C#, Java, or Golang.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field.
• Experience developing and applying state-of-the-art techniques for optimizing training and inference software.
