About the position

The Senior AI/ML Data Scientist - Natural Language Processing (NLP) role focuses on developing and deploying production-grade NLP products to analyze unstructured and semi-structured data within the company's research and development pipeline. This position aims to solve real-world problems in therapeutic research and development by leveraging machine learning and generative AI techniques, particularly in the context of biomedical literature and proprietary research data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy production-grade NLP products for unstructured and semi-structured data.
• Consult with stakeholders on their projects to enhance data science, NLP, and AI literacy.
• Co-author presentations, reports, manuscripts, and public code releases.
• Build novel tools that facilitate the discovery and development of new therapeutics.
• Evaluate, develop, test, and deploy new techniques for natural language understanding.
• Stay updated on the latest methods in NLP, ML, and generative AI.

Requirements

• PhD in data science, AI/ML/LLM engineering, computer science, or a related discipline; or M.S. with 2 years industry experience; or B.S. with 5 years industry experience focused on NLP, data science, AI/ML/LLM engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2 years experience with Python, Spark, or related frameworks in AI, machine learning, data science, or data engineering.
• 1 year experience with Natural Language Processing, Generative AI, or related techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Fluency in Python programming and version control with git.
• Experience with scalable data engineering frameworks such as Apache Spark.
• Experience with ML model deployment and operations including CI/CD workflows.
• Working knowledge of statistical learning in NLP contexts.
• Experience with NLP and/or Generative AI libraries and text annotation tools.
