About the position

The Senior AI/ML Data Scientist - Natural Language Processing (NLP) role focuses on developing and deploying production-grade NLP products to analyze unstructured and semi-structured data within the company's research and development pipeline. This position aims to solve real-world problems in therapeutic research and development by leveraging scalable ML and Generative AI approaches, including Large Language Models (LLMs). The role involves collaboration with a diverse group of stakeholders to enhance data science and AI literacy, while also providing opportunities for co-authoring scientific publications and engaging in cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy production-grade NLP products for unstructured and semi-structured data.
• Consult with stakeholders on their projects to enhance data science and AI literacy.
• Build novel tools to support drug discovery and development.
• Evaluate, develop, test, and deploy new techniques for natural language understanding.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on projects and share implemented approaches with internal audiences.

Requirements

• PhD in data science, AI/ML/LLM engineering, computer science, or a related discipline; or M.S. with 2 years of industry experience; or B.S. with 5 years of industry experience focused on NLP, data science, or related fields.
• 2 years of experience with Python, Spark, or related frameworks in AI, machine learning, or data science.
• 1 year of experience with Natural Language Processing or Generative AI techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Fluency in Python programming and version control with git.
• Experience with scalable data engineering frameworks like Apache Spark.
• Knowledge of ML model deployment and operations including CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with non-relational and relational databases, and deployment of APIs and web applications.
• Familiarity with NLP and Generative AI libraries and text annotation tools.
