About the position

The Senior Air Quality Project Manager will lead air quality projects, focusing on permitting and compliance for clients in the chemicals and refining sectors. This role involves regulatory modeling, emissions calculations, and managing a team of consultants while fostering client relationships. The position is fully remote for the right candidate and requires a strong technical background in air quality regulations and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct new source review (NSR), non-attainment NSR, Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) permitting, and Title V permitting.
  • Perform regulatory air dispersion modeling using US EPA recommended models (e.g., AERMOD).
  • Develop emission calculations and emissions inventory.
  • Conduct Best Available Control Technology (BACT) assessments.
  • Perform regulatory applicability analyses for state, local, and federal regulations.
  • Manage a team of consultants and oversee project work.
  • Ensure quality control of personal work and projects being managed.
  • Communicate effectively with external and internal customers.
  • Develop and maintain trusting professional relationships with clients.
  • Promote the company externally to clients.

Requirements

  • B.S. or above in engineering or a related scientific discipline.
  • 7 to 10 years of air quality consulting experience, with at least 4 years as a Project Manager.
  • Advanced understanding of relevant air quality regulations.
  • Depth of technical competencies to solve problems and scope projects accurately.
  • Ability to mentor and train team members.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and communication skills.
  • Professionalism to maintain long-term working relationships with clients and co-workers.
  • Fundamental math and science competencies.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite and time/expense tracking software.
  • Understanding of software and tools applicable to projects (e.g., AERMOD, ArcGIS).
  • Understanding of engineering concepts related to chemical processes and emissions control technologies.
