About the position

The Senior Airborne Electronic Warfare Systems Test Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of advanced airborne warfare systems. This position focuses on enhancing warfighter capabilities through innovative solutions and operational expertise in challenging environments. The engineer will work closely with a dedicated team to ensure mission success and improve system performance based on lessons learned from previous deployments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, integration, test, and evaluation of complex airborne warfare systems.
• Provide technical expertise and operational context to the Integrated Test Team's test plans and execution.
• Incorporate lessons learned from previous tests and operational deployments to enhance future system performance.
• Utilize technical and tactical knowledge to train APL staff in military platform development, testing, and operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in development, integration, and/or testing of hardware or software systems.
• Demonstrated track record of excellence in technical leadership.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical writing skills, with the ability to mentor professional staff.
• Willingness to travel between APL offices and within the National Capital Region.
• Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance and ultimately a Top Secret level clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Graduation from a formal test & evaluation curriculum (e.g., USNTPS, ETPS).
• Leadership experience in airborne EW systems operations, EW mission planning, or test & evaluation of airborne systems.
• Experience with USN/USAF Developmental or Operational Test organizations.
• Familiarity with Precision Strike Mission Area programs and sponsors.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
