About the position

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Product Operations team in our Hartford, CT office, with additional openings in Boston, MA, or Des Moines, IA. As a key contributor within the Global Atlantic Retail group, the successful candidate will be responsible for continuously improving product processes and controls to provide outstanding product support across all areas of Global Atlantic. This role requires regular interaction with Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and various departments within Global Atlantic, making it essential for the candidate to possess strong communication and analytical skills. The candidate will analyze quality data to identify trends and issues, providing observations and recommendations to management. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the product, processes, and procedures related to the functions in scope is crucial. The role involves using product knowledge to participate in resolving questions and projects related to in-force policies, particularly focusing on annuities. Additionally, the candidate will respond to escalated service issues and production problems, ensuring that all concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. Another key responsibility includes developing, testing, and maintaining Excel spreadsheet calculation tools for TPAs. The candidate will also review new and audit existing TPA processes and procedures that involve product calculations. Analyzing business requirements, product specifications, policy contracts, annual statements, and supplemental reports will be necessary to justify implementation decisions, ensuring that all processes align with the company's standards and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and issues, providing observations to management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the product, processes, and procedures of in-scope functions.
  • Participate in resolving questions and projects related to in-force policies, focusing on annuities.
  • Respond to escalated service issues and production problems.
  • Develop, test, and maintain Excel spreadsheet calculation tools for TPAs.
  • Review new and audit existing TPA processes and procedures involving product calculations.
  • Analyze business requirements, product specifications, policy contracts, annual statements, and supplemental reports to justify implementation decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related field is required.
  • Progress towards the ASA designation (2 exams passed and exposure to the insurance industry or actuarial field).
  • 1+ years of experience in the insurance industry or actuarial field.
  • 1+ years or more of annuity experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated Excel expertise.
